Players Theater Co. hosted a screening of the upcoming PBS
documentary, OUT IN THE SILENCE, Friday, October 2 at 8 pm
at the Metropolitan Community Church of the Lehigh Valley,
930 North 4th Street, Allentown, PA 18102. OUT IN THE
SILENCE is an uplifting documentary about courageous local
residents confronting homophobia in their conservative
small town in the hills of western Pennsylvania. Admission
is $15, ($8 for students & senior citizens). Proceeds
will benefit the Rainbow Players Theater Co., MCCLV’s
Freedom to Marry Initiative, and PA Diversity Network.
Following the screening, there was a Q&A panel with
filmmakers Joe Wilson & Dean Hamer, Chair of the PA
Human Relations Commission Stephen A. Glassman, Jake Kaskey
of Equality Advocates Pennsylvania, & PA Diversity
Network's Liz Bradbury and Adrian Shanker. For more

Executive Director Liz Bradbury spoke in favor of PA State
Senator Daylin Leach's Marriage Equality Bill (SB 935) at a
press conference about the introduction of the Bill in the
Rotunda of the Capital Building, in Harrisburg at 10am.
Senators Leach, Ferlo, and Farese will be speaking on the
Bill along with other members of the Community - including
Tim Hare and Earl Ball.

The conference draws over 1000 progressive college students

National Equality Rally in Philadelphia

May 3, 2009, gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender
Americans, together with straight allies Marched for
Equality on Independence Mall in front of Independence
Hall, the Liberty Bell Center and the Gay Pioneers Historic
Marker in Philadelphia. This was an historic event. Over
100 Organizations from Across the Nation Marched for
Equality on Independence Mall.

Family Institute. The special viewing of the show was at
the the Brewworks Silklounge and was a fundraiser for PA
Diversity Network.

and silly prizes during the show. And were part of this
