Rainbow Players Theater Co. hosted a screening of the upcoming PBS documentary, OUT IN THE SILENCE, Friday, October 2 at 8 pm at the Metropolitan Community Church of the Lehigh Valley, 930 North 4th Street, Allentown, PA 18102. OUT IN THE SILENCE is an uplifting documentary about courageous local residents confronting homophobia in their conservative small town in the hills of western Pennsylvania. Admission is $15, ($8 for students & senior citizens). Proceeds will benefit the Rainbow Players Theater Co., MCCLV’s Freedom to Marry Initiative, and PA Diversity Network. Following the screening, there was a Q&A panel with filmmakers Joe Wilson & Dean Hamer, Chair of the PA Human Relations Commission Stephen A. Please join Kutztown University as they kick-off their month-long GLBT History celebration with Liz Bradbury's presentation that highlights important moments in GLBT history, from ancient times to the present. Harrisburg and Washington D.C.
PDN Executive Director Liz Bradbury spoke in favor of PA State Senator Daylin Leach's Marriage Equality Bill (SB 935) at a press conference about the introduction of the Bill in the Rotunda of the Capital Building, in Harrisburg at 10am. Senators Leach, Ferlo, and Farese will be speaking on the Bill along with other members of the Community - including Tim Hare and Earl Ball.

PDN Boardmember Adrian Shanker spoke in Washington DC as a Representative of PDN and moderated a panel about Queer people of Faith at the Campus Progress National Conference. The conference draws over 1000 progressive college students from all 50 states. Bill Clinton and Nancy Pelosi are the two big keynotes this year.

The National Equality Rally in Philadelphia
On May 3, 2009, gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender Americans, together with straight allies Marched for Equality on Independence Mall in front of Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell Center and the Gay Pioneers Historic Marker in Philadelphia. This was an historic event. Over 100 Organizations from Across the Nation Marched for Equality on Independence Mall.

The special viewing of the show was at the the Brewworks Silklounge and was a fundraiser for PA Diversity Network.

Friends cheered on Adrian, Played BUZZ WORD BINGO for fun and silly prizes during the show. And were part of this great community event.
