Hello walkers and runners,
It's time for us to sign up for the women's 5k classic to be held on October 17, 2008 in Lehigh Parkway. Don't forget -- this is an event that has an activity level for everyone!  We've got a space for you on our team if you want to run really far -- 5 miles, if you just want to run -- 5K, if you are a competitive walker -- also 5K, or if you would just like to take a walk in the park with about 5000 of your best friends. 
 
This is an opportunity for the women of the GLBT community and their friends to step out against breast and other female cancers, and to be seen as the positive forces we already are, in the community. 
 
Here are the directions for registration -- please register ASAP. 

This year, once again, Trish Sullivan has offered to make all the runners/walkers on the PA DIVERSITY TEAM a sumptuous post-race breakfast at Trish and Liz's house -- where we can revel in our accomplishments!!

So here we go with the details ---
 
To Register for the women's 5k classic:

• go to www.womens5kclassic.org
• click on "register", and then "register now"
• either create an EZE account and screen name, or just click on "register"
• "sign" and date the waiver
• click "agree"
• complete the registration form
• when you get to team name, click on the drop down arrow, highlight/select PA DIVERSITY
• our team type is "non-corporate"
• click on "submit"
• confirm the data
• click on "proceed"
• click on payment option - it is easiest to use your credit card
• put in that info and then click "agree"

!!PLEASE SEND ME AN EMAIL (ahuey@rcn.com) SO THAT I KNOW YOU HAVE REGISTERED AND CAN KEEP AN ACCURATE LIST OF OUR TEAM MEMBERS!!
 
Please note: Registration fees are $35. You are guaranteed a T-shirt if you register by OCTOBER 8. You will have to pick up your race packet the night before the race
 
We had about 25 on our team last year and would like to see that number increase to 40 this year. So, please encourage some friends to join us in coming out for a good cause, a great day, some needed exercise, and great food at the end of the race!
 
Please email me or give me a call @ 610-434-1483 if I can help with questions/concerns etc.  Please send along any new team member's email addresses as this is my main means of contact with the team. More details will follow as race day draws near including directions to Donna's and parking information.

EVENT INFORMATION from the 5k Organizers

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 17, 2008 - RAIN OR SHINE - LITTLE LEHIGH PARKWAY - ALLENTOWN, PA

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE? - Anyone who is in reasonable health who feels she can walk or run the 3.1 mile event. The race is limited to an all female registration. No male registrations will be accepted however, we would love to have males participate by becoming volunteers or cheerleaders on the course !!

10:00 - Walk in the Park (no awards)

Brunch for the PA Diversity Team at Liz and Trish’s house in Allentown after the race. Begins about 11:30 AM.
