PA Diversity Network Photo Project-- 380 Same-sex Couples:
Facing Inequality
Feb. 7, 2010: Sunday through Sunday Feb 14th.
On Display in the PA Capitol Rotunda
3rd and State Streets, Harrisburg
Nearly 400 Photos of Same-Sex Couples and families facing
inequality will hang in the lobby of the Pennsylvania
Capitol. That's 800 people or 1600 eyes on legislators and
their guests as the walk to and from their offices on a
daily basis.
On Monday Feb 8th, dozens of GLBTA community members met
with their Senators and Representatives to discuss GLBT
marriage equality issues and GLBT civil rights legislation.
Over the summer, PA Diversity Network collected nearly 3000
cards from constituents asking their legislators to sign
S.B. 935 for Marriage Equality. The cards were districted
and presented to each individual's legislator.
March & Rally
Feb. 8, 2010, Monday
3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Starting in the State Capitol Building
Alanna Berger the final speaker of the Press Conference,
then lead the crowd on a march down State St. to the corner
of Front. and Market Streets in front of the Dauphin County
Courthouse to rally at that crowded intersection during
rush hour to demand equality.
Debate Postponed -- HACC Allies Was to Present a Debate on
Marriage Equality with
Sen. Daylin Leach vs. Maggie Gallagher -- however, duee to
weather, Ms. Gallagher was unable to attend.

Celebration
of Faiths Affirming Marriage Equality

different faiths demonstrating with song, prayer, food or
ritual, something from their faith, or their version of a
marriage ceremony.

LEHIGH
VALLEY EVENTS
On Feb. 12, 2010, Metropolitan Community Church of the
Lehigh Valley will lead a Marriage Equality Rally at the
Lehigh County Courthouse. Rally at 5th & Hamilton
Streets on Friday, Feb, 12, 10 AM – 12 Noon.
MCCLV's goal this year is for 100 same-sex couples to apply
for marriage licenses - These licenses will be denied but
will remain in Lehigh County files to document this
historic effort for equality. Activists will also be on the
street to speak out and rally in front of the courthouse
about marriage equality. There will be many speakers
including Liz Bradbury, PA Diversity Network Executive
Director.

In addition to MCCLV's Courthouse Rally, the church is
planning the 10th Anniversary Interfaith National Freedom
to Marry Worship Service for Saturday, February 13, 2010,
6pm – 9pm at Metropolitan Community Church of the
Lehigh Valley, 930 N. 4th Street, Allentown, PA 18102. Over
a dozen clergy people representing a variety of faiths will
be on hand to help celebrate this special evening. The
keynote speaker will be Rev. Elder Nancy Wilson, leader of
the Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community
Churches. Liz Bradbury of PA Diversity Network will also
speak at this event.
