The mission of the South Eastern Pennsylvania Council on Alcoholism & Drug Dependence, Inc . is to improve human life affected by alcoholism and other drug addictions. This is accomplished through services for prevention, consultation, education, advocacy, assessment, intervention and treatment referral.
SEPCADD is dedicated to serving the needs of community, and all those who suffer from the debilitating effects of the disease of alcoholism and/or drug addiction regardless of their ability to pay.
SEPCADD has services for GLBT people and is working on:
The New Hope Gay & Lesbian Recovery Center- The New Hope Gay & Lesbian Recovery Center is a planned community center to help meet the needs of the Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual and Transgender communities. This Center will provide a safe recovery environment for those individuals suffering from addictive disorders. The NHGLRC will provide resources for substance abuse education, prevention, intervention, advocacy and treatment issues.
The LGBT community is rightfully proud of its numerous achievements to better the lives of its many family members. As they celebrate there is still a troublesome problem this community needs to come to terms with: the critical role alcohol and other drugs are having on its culture.
