Put A Face On Marriage Equality
Discrimination
August 25 until November 6, 2010
Reception:
Wednesday, September 29
Artist’s gallery talk
at 6 p.m.
Facing Inequality, was begun in 2006 on National Freedom to
Marry Day (February 12) by PDN Executive Director Liz
Bradbury. Bradbury began taking pictures of local committed
same-sex couples in response to federal and state political
efforts to constitutionally ban legal recognition of
same-sex relationships. The photo project serves to not
only remind the public that same-sex couples in PA cannot
marry, cannot get any rights through civil union, have no
legal recognition and are legally seen by the government as
strangers, but also to put a local face on this
discrimination.
Gallery hours (through September 20): Monday – Friday
-- 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
(gallery closed Labor Day weekend)
Gallery hours (after September 20):
Monday and Friday -- 9 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Tuesday,
Wednesday, Thursday
9 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to Noon
Gallery closed on College holidays.
Location:
Hicks Art Center Gallery on the Newtown Campus of Bucks
County Community College
275 Swamp Road, Newtown, PA (215) 504-8531
